To care about my laptops feelings?

My old laptop is about to die. I've had it for 15 years and it's seen me through all sorts of job changes, house moves and so many situations.

I've got a new, modern slim line one updating as I type. It looks amazing. So speedy! My old one looks so sad, just sitting there like it's been dumped. I've betrayed its loyalty. I know it knows this.

AIBU?

Cheer me up mumsnet with things you feel bad about when you upgraded. Grin

Felt the same upgrading my iPhone but my last one went to a good home (my boyfriend) but yep always feel sad.

Same with leaving work for the last time and my desk. I think it’s just a mark of the end of an era.

Fifteen year old laptop? I had no idea a laptop would last that long.

I think you should frame i and hang it on a wall or at least put it out to grass/stud or whatever the laptop equivalent is. It's served you well. Sad

Sorry that's not very cheery.

Have Guinness world records been in touch? Grin

Oh yes I feel sorry for objects all the time! I recently bought a box of 8 ceramic grey and white door knobs in all different patterns. I only needed to use 7 though and felt so dreadful for the little knob I didn't use 😢 left sitting in it's box I kept feeling that it must have been so happy when it was bought and off to fulfil it's destiny and then it didn't get picked.

I also baked some white rolls recently and they came out so puffy and smooth and sweet looking, I was really quite moved by them.

I'm too sensitive 😂

Oh yes! My first car! It was a little Fiat 126, air cooled engine. I part-exchanged it in for a newer, water cooled one. I cried when I left it behind...

Those poor little door knobs.

My laptop has been through the wars and repaired three times, twice for drinks spilled on it.

It's like a tank.
