DH and I went to a gig by a singer I really like. I booked it and DH agreed to come. For info, I often go to things he has chosen and booked. We go out quite a lot.
He has started a new job quite recently and has a terrible commute, getting up at 6am. The gig was standing only and he was getting really tired. I could see he was flagging at about 10pm. I asked if he wanted to go home and he looked a bit weary but said no it's ok.
It came to the encore and the singer still hadn't played her big hit, which as a fan, I really wanted to hear. Never seen her live before, and not particularly likely to again. DH said he'd had enough and wanted to go home at the start of the encore. I said that's fine, I will see you at home. We live 10 minutes walk away.
I just said don't worry, you go home, I'll stay and then everyone's happy. He was really grumpy with me and said I don't consider him important, don't care about him etc for not wanting to go home with him. So he went home and I stayed til the end.

This was yesterday. We did not speak when I got home. We are now sitting not speaking (very mature).
I am not inclined to apologise, I really wanted to listen to the end of the show (which was only about 5-10 minutes later) and listen to the final song, which was the biggest hit of this singer.
So who is BU?

Him.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 26/03/2019 22:38

Yes him. Is he usually a big baby?

AlexaAmbidextra · 26/03/2019 22:39

He is. He’s acting like a child with his sulking and not speaking. Just because he didn’t get his own way. Pathetic.

iloveyorkshirepuds · 26/03/2019 22:39

Ah I hate behaviour like this.
Of course he is being unreasonable
I'm going to fight his corner and say he is clouded... overtired? Strains of the new job?
He needs to stop behaving like a 5 year old.

If you'd have left the gig at the time he wanted to, then equally you could say that he doesn't care about you??!!

CalmdownJanet · 26/03/2019 22:41

Him definitely!!

Puppiesorbabies · 26/03/2019 22:42

Him, especially if you live 10mins away it's not like you've got to arrange taxis ect

MajesticWhine · 26/03/2019 22:45

Sigh, thanks yeah I know it's him. He is a bit stressed and low at the moment, which seems to increase this sort of thing.

I'm late to the play but HIM! You live only a few minutes away and had no problem staying alone for what was just a short time more. He could have gone home at 10 pm - you offered!

He needs to get some sleep now as he has a 6am alarm. Smile

GummyGoddess · 26/03/2019 23:04

Who goes to a gig and leaves 5-10 minutes before the end? 5-10 minutes more sleep wouldn't make a difference to him the next day.
