...to think I might be better doing nursing first?

And then midwifery?

I am applying now to study either midwifery or nursing. The university I am applying to is accepting applications for this year (September) though I would have the option to defer if needs be.

I have two young dcs and I’m 35, so will be studying as a mature student. I have a degree, so could potentially convert to nursing via a two year course and then I think I could specialise in midwifery if I wanted to. This would be great as I could be working as a nurse in two years time, which I would love.

My thoughts are that if I did nursing, I would have more flexibility, but still could do midwifery if I wanted to.

I originally had my heart set on midwifery, but now I’m thinking nursing with the option to go on and do midwifery later...

Has anyone done it this way? Would you recommend it?

TIA
