I wouldn't be able to switch providers now, but luckily my provider allows deal switch at the end of a fix without any hustle. Just few clicks online. Can't imagine if I was stuck with crappy and expensive deal, but "couldn't afford" a cheaper one... How ridiculous that sounds. "Can't afford the cheaper deal" 🤷♀️
