Watched a film whilst ironing today. Why, when faced with an obviously creepy, spooky old house, say, do they immediately decide to split up and explore? They always die horribly and never seem to learn!

For the same reason as they don't put all the lights on and make loads of noise when they hear a noise downstairs or always trip over a root when running away through a spooky forest.

They are very good looking though.

And they know they won't die unless they are an outsider who was invited to join the group at the last minute.

Because Hollywood movie producers (or whoever it is that writes the story lines) lack imagination and talent.

Basically if they behaved intelligently it would be a very short film!

Oh and they always ask "Who is it?" when someone bangs aggressively on the door instead of running in the opposite direction!

And when they do eventually get into it they either use a feather or a mop or some other measly weapon to fend off the attacker or if they use something substantial, they never finish the job.

It's similar to when NCIS and Criminal Minds agents go into a building and mince about with torches in a darkened room.
