How much is your pension goal?

I am trying to figure out how much I should aim for.
So if DH and I want to retire at say 55 how much should we set aside to last us 40-45y approx. if we have no housing costs (hopefully mortgage paid up by then), to live nicely but not in a luxurious way, maybe one holiday a year. How much is your estimate when you do the maths?
My first idea was 1500£ but that brings the goal to 700k!!! Seems unachievable!

How old are you now? Do you have much of a pension already?

£400k, plan to retire early 60s.

I am 35, and combined with DH we have 250k pensions already. Seems like a lot, but not so much when translated in monthly income...

Zero. I'll probably be 89 before I can claim it and I'd rather live for now and spend my money now than in 60 years time when it will be pretty much a worthless pot and only benefit those I leave behind.
