This is a long shot, and a bit cheeky, but I'm a long way from Exeter and can't think of an alternative...

I have reserved an item of clothing in a shop in Exeter to replace DD2's ruined one. It is a favourite item ands was a Christmas present, Exeter is the only store in the country that has it in stock but sadly, I don't know anyone in Exeter to ask for help.

If you're a Mumsnetter in Exeter and wouldn't mind popping into a shop, collecting the top and posting it to me (at my cost), I would be extremely grateful.

Just ask the shop. They will take payment by card over the phone.

The shop isn't able to post - they don't have that facility.

The shop must post stuff - surely they go to the post office for stamps etc?

The shop doesn't post stuff - things ordered online can be posted but those things are sent direct from a warehouse or something.

Ha only because I had exactly the same thing with a north face coat - it was only in stock in Exeter! I drove there to get it - mad.
