To hate Anne Summer's parties?

I'm NOT A PRUDE! I'm really not! But there is something very... bawdy.... about an Anne Summer's party.

I think I am uncomfortable with the implication that female sexuality is so repressed that we have to throw a bloody party and get pissed on perry before we are allowed to admit to having a sex drive!

Hmm. Well I don't analyse it too much - I went to one recently and it was bloody hilarious.

Cheap, nasty and tacky - but very funny.

I am going to one soon, have been to one before, and I am dreading it.

i went to one once, was a very amusing night and not too seedy! and i was driving, so not pissed

did end up buying a flipping "miss massage" dress though (for a laugh!) which not surprisingly never came out of the packet when i received it two weeks later!

Oh they're great when your with your close friends with a large amount of booze trying on nuns outfits and winning free toys

after last time me and DP stayed in a hotel with all my new 'goodies' and had such a good night

admittedly they are a little tacky but if you have the ru=ight host and the right friends then you can have a real laugh

I shoudl embrace the sleaze really. get wankered on Taboo and embrace it like a long lost teenage lover.

EscapeFrom, I shared your thoughts after the first one I went to many years ago. Dreaded going to another one (having told a friend yes, I'm free and would love to come round for the evening before she told me it was an Anne Summers party). We had an absolute hoot. I don't think the implication is that female sexuality is repressed. I think it's just about a load of women getting together and having a good laugh. If you feel uncomfortable, don't go. if you do end up going, throw yourself into the spirit of the evening, you might just surprise yourself by enjoying it (as I did)

I've managed to avoid AS parties for years until a couple of weeks ago. A friend was sort of talked into it, and talked me into attending for moral support . Still not quite sure how her colleagues talked her into it, it's so not her thing.

Anyway, the party went ahead (her DH was convinced she'd cancel it) and it was a very sedate event, but we did have a few giggles.

She did do a lovely M&S inspired buffet, lol.
