Visiting FIL - DD has a nasty cough

FIL is having keyhole heart surgery on Monday. We were meant to visit this weekend but DD has a really nasty cough (and tonsillitis... again). Should we postpone? He'll be devastated if we do but don't want to put him at risk

Wait and see how everyone is at the weekend? It’s too soon to call it off.

DelphiniumBlue · 11/03/2019 20:42

Absolutely not worth the risk.

Don't take her - you would feel terrible if he couldn't have his surgery.
Could you skype instead?

N0Time · 11/03/2019 20:44

I wouldn’t risk it. He might have to wait ages for another date.

Merryoldgoat · 11/03/2019 20:52

Definitely don’t take her.

Dontrocktheboat · 11/03/2019 20:54

Definitely postpone.

Op we are in a similar position. My 99 yr old grandad had an op 3 weeks ago and we haven't been able to go and see him because DD has something like tonsillitis.
Actually she's had it 7 weeks now!

But I don't feel it's safe to see him just yet

Whattodonut · 11/03/2019 20:58

That's my gut reaction. I know FIL will protest to high heaven... Maybe DH will have to go on his own.
I'll wait until Thursday to make the call but thanks everyone.

Send DH on his own and get him to FaceTime from the hospital.
