Whitening a christening robe

DS an DDIL are expecting a baby, they are asking to use the same christening robe that DS had. I've got it out but it's yellowed ☹️!

Any ideas on how to get it back white?

if they still do it glo white sachet in the washing machine is what i used on my christening gown for my kids, on a gentle wash wilkos will probably sell it or something similar

What material is it? Sunlight works works wonders on cotton. Don’t use bio powder if it’s silk!

It's a sort of satin but not silk.

I've heard soaking it in Milton fluid can bring it back to white, although if it is silk it might be best to get a specialist cleaner to do it for you x
