To ask about your experiences with insurance?

Bit of a rant post really. I need to get an operation and I found out just as I was about to book that my health cover wasn't going to pay. We changed health insurance and got told that they should cover. Now I've just been on the phone on hold for half an hour to confirm I'm going to be covered for the hospital and the procedure.

You’re extremely lucky, most new health insurance policies don’t cover pre-existing conditions. To get the whole thing resolved as quickly as you have, within half an hour, must be a big relief.

Are you in the UK? This is quite normal. It is always advised you never book without pre-authorisation from the company.
