To wonder how you 'lose' a sofa

Over the last 6 months I have heard of 2 separate occasions of people buying a new sofa, waiting patiently to be told delivery will be delayed because it's been.... LOST? 2 differently companies by the way.

Surely this is just old cobblers to fob people off where they have over promised?

Last time we ordered a 3, 2, and 1 seater set. The 1 never arrived. First they said it was lost, then they finally came back with "it was never put on the shipment from China, it'll take at least 8 weeks now as we'll need to re-order from scratch, or would you like to cancel for a full refund?"

So "lost" may not mean 'between local warehouse and you' but 'failure in production/shipping 20,000 miles away that we have no visibility of or the manifests were flat out wrong'.

They 'fell' off the back of the lorry!
