To not want to let my dc's go and play next door ??

Got back from the shop and next door now have a huge bouncy castle in their garden.

Dd2 has just come in and said that next door said they can go over and play on it. I have said NO.

Reasons I don't want them over there are.....

They have 2 dogs, a staff and a rotty that they do not supervise at all.

They do not watch their own kids (1 yr old wanders up and down street in her nappy), so am damn sure they would not watch mine.

Their garden is covered in dog crap.

Anyway, I now have ds and dd2 crying at me cos I am mean apparently.

Tell them you were just about to take them out somewhere special. Sounds gross - dog crap in the garden!

Explain why nutty, and offer them something else nice to do. No YANBU

you could go with them!

I could go with them yeah, but really do not want to spend afternoon sat in a dog crap filled garden, with their unruly dogs and foul mouthed kids.

I have explained to dd2 why they cannot go and she is ok now, but ds doesn't understand what I mean.

Am trying to think of something they can do to distract them.
