Have you ever managed to turn around private school rejection?

Posting here for traffic. DC has been rejected from dream school (not 11/13+) despite lots of positive feedback on trial visit. Would I BU to try and persuade the head to change their mind? Have you ever done succeeded in this as a parent or know what might sway them?
