I am going to be working with my husband two days a week after being a sahm for four years (was previously a primary school teacher and frankly cant face all that stress again). He's a self employed window cleaner...

Does anyone know what's best- to be paid a wage by him or to declare myself self employed and be joint partners in the business? What are the factors to consider? Help!

Bump. Anyone? Or is there a board where someone would know?

If he employs you then he will have to deal with PAYE issue. Such as minimum wage and holiday entitlement etc.

If you were to be a sole proprietor then you could pay yourself below minimum wage and choose to have no holidays.

I wonder public liability if insurance cover is cheaper for you two together rather than 2 policies.
