What's the weirdest thing you've had to do at work? stuck on the train after a long day and i want to hear your crazy work stories!

I am a cleaner.
Once I got asked to drain a ddogs anal glands!!
Was very pleased to see my customers friend who was a GP and she did it instead!!
*I have no veterinary training at all!!

Well as a nurse quite a few things! I didn’t enjoy having to hunt through the contents of a bedpan for a glass eye!

Oh my goodness!! How did they expect you to do that?

Being a nursing student in 1987 was bleak!

Putting condoms on fake penises all day last week to show year 9 how to do it.

Nobody wanted the green penis to practice on.

Take a amputated dogs leg and a cats de-gloved tail to a mortuary freezer- I used to work in a animal hospital.

Not a job- but a friend's ds chopped his finger off in my freezer and I had to find it, pack it in ice for the hospital to stitch it back on!!

I’ve done plenty of “dirty” or slightly grim jobs (I work in a hospital mainly with elderly dementia patients).

I suppose the thing I’d never really anticipated having to do was the lady who couldn’t sleep until all 5 of her babies had been bathed, dressed & laid in their Moses basket by her bed. The babies being dolls.

I’m a veterinary nurse... you name it and I’ve probably done it not envy

As an actress it was always weird to have to snog or get into bed with a total stranger to do a love scene, especially when it was in an audition and you’d only met seconds before!

As a teacher, having the contents of a sanitary disposal bin thrown at me by a naked, bleeding 14 year old who had also shit all over the place .

Christ! This all makes my job seem pretty un-extreme!!

Check a patients bed for his missing toe. We were waiting for it to fall off, but we looked everywhere for it and only found it when he said it was on when he went to the toilet. It was in one of his slippers. 🤢

Dealing with the contents of charity shop donations
eg - bags of grass clippings, syringes, human poo, dog poo, raw steaks wrapped in bedding, wet bedding with thick mould spores, used nappies, used sex toys, used san pro..etc etc
Nicer but odder , having to smudge the building every day before opening (walking around with a smouldering sage stick)

I used know someone who worked in a car body repair shop.
They were quite frequently visited by the police asking for them to locate a missing part of a hand or a foot in the wreckage.....

Chest freezer under a worktop. Over 20 years ago now. He was about 5/6 and had gone (without me knowing) in for a lolly and the lid fell down on his hand.

I worked for a charity and one of my duties was opening the returned envelopes from mail shits we sent out. You do not want to know what people sent in. People seem to take it as a personal slight to get an envelope through the post and I can’t imagine the mindset to go and put shit in an envelope rather than just stick it in the bin....

Judging an easter bonnet competition at a pensioners lunch club. After seeing some of the reactions from some of the losers I understood why the group worker had asked me to do it. I was there to temporarily cover reception.

I used to collect samples of raw sewage. A van load of 2 litre bottles of mixed up shit & then I'd have to clean up all the sampling equipment.

Working for min wage and being told to put a condom type catheter on a 90yr old man who immediately pulled it off winked at me and said "oh no you'll have to do it again". I went to the boss and said I wouldn't do it anymore. Never got anymore shifts after that (zero hour contract). I wasnt the only one he did that to either.

As a teacher, there have been quite a few moments but probably the most grim was having to pick dried poo off of chicks bums!

We had used one of those companies that supply chicken eggs and incubators to raise chicks in school. However, We longer do this due to animal welfare concerns.
