Is it warm enough for open toes yet?

I am definitely not by any means someone who gets out their summer clothes as soon as there is a hint of sun but so many of the outfits I'd like to wear would look better with open toe sandals. Is it warm enough yet? I realise it's February and I could be pushing it a little...

My kids went to the park in flip flops today Grin I got some strange looks from other parents though.
I wore my boots and felt like mother of the year not

DontDribbleOnTheCarpet · 24/02/2019 20:16

They're your toes, it's up to you how much fresh air they get!

elQuintoConyo · 24/02/2019 20:17

I was in the sea today Grin

If the UK experienced a mini tidal wave, that's cos I haven't shaved anything yet GrinGrinGrin

everythingisbetterafteranap · 24/02/2019 20:19

Nope. Mid March is the earliest before air reaches my toes.

Oysterbabe · 24/02/2019 20:20

No, it's too early. It needs to be 18 degrees minimum I reckon, probably more like 20.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 24/02/2019 20:20

I reckon by this time next week we will back wearing gloves and down jackets!

HundredMilesAnHour · 24/02/2019 20:20

Open toes? Are you serious?! Absolutely not. It's February. Wait until Easter.

Bananasarenottheonlyfruit · 24/02/2019 20:23

I don't go by date, I go by temperature.

I spent the whole of last Jan/Feb in flip flops with a broken toe. It has made give many less fucks about odd looks! Winter coat and flip flops, just brazen it out.

It will be cold again next week anyway.

emeraldmoon · 24/02/2019 20:23

I went to town and then the park in my sandals today, my feet did start to feel a bit chilly after a while but strangely I didn't feel ridiculous wearing them in February

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 24/02/2019 20:26

I saw a teenager today in a crop/bra top and tiny shorts today. I mean yes it was pleasant but bloody hell it wasn’t warm enough for that outifit!

Imustbemad00 · 24/02/2019 20:27

It was 17 degrees here yesterday. I saw people in flip flops. I was sweating in trainers and jeans.

Nnnnnineteen · 24/02/2019 20:28

As long as your feet don't look as grim as the woman's on the tube this afternoon. She could have caught fish from a river with those nails Confused

EthelHornsby · 24/02/2019 20:31

I don’t understand threads like this - why do you need to ask other people what to wear on your feet?

bourbonbiccy · 24/02/2019 20:44

I wear peep toe and open shoes all year round as I don't really feel the cold. so I would say, if you like them and you are warm enough wear them 😀

bibbitybobbityyhat · 24/02/2019 20:45

Of course not. It's February. The weather will get cold again in the blink of an eye.

GregoryPeckingDuck · 24/02/2019 20:46

Sure. So long as you don’t mind your toes falling off!

KimchiLaLa · 25/02/2019 13:47

Thanks all! FWIW I then saw no one else wearing sandals but it feels warmer today and the sun a lot stronger.

I would say the same about people who comment on threads they don't like to say how pointless the thread is. Waste of time no?!

Where I am it's always Havaiana time😉

pushingdaisies · 26/02/2019 13:01

I wouldn't get my toes out in it (probably best as I have a foot full of stitches Grin ) but I do think it's lovely weather.

Yesterday though I did see a woman in full summer mode wearing a strappy top, a neon yellow (also pretty see through) maxi skirt and sandals. It was about 5pm, going dark and really not that warm
