When does the fog lift

People talk about the toddler and early years being tough in parenting but I'm the mum of a nearly 5 year old and still waiting for the fog to lift! I'm permanently knackered and find the long days at weekends and the holidays quite draining. Just wondering when it does really get easier? Aibu to find it hard going?

Honestly? When they go to high school.
It eases off gradually. Year 4/5/6 of primary school as they get more independent.
Many people have 2nd/3rd babies though so it starts again with each child.

I feel it's just about gone now my youngest is in Reception. I work only part time and he plays a lot with his older siblings which I imagine makes a big difference.
