Snoring in my office? Pickledog says it's his sofa, and he should be allowed to snore whenever he wants to. I say it's my home office, and it's completely unfair to snore and snooze while some of us have to work? AIBU?

I need to have a home office for my new job soon and I can't imagine my two being keen on being excluded ., especially as my youngest follows me everywhere even to the toilet ! I just hope he doesn't start his howling when I'm on the phone to clients, it's going to be tricky. can you put some ear plugs in rather than disturb him ?

checkingforballoons · 22/02/2019 13:40

YANBU. I have a house rabbit that likes to sit under the table whilst I’m working, alternating between nudging my foot for cuddles and snoring. Sigh.

fourquenelles · 22/02/2019 13:45

I have a Facebook friend in the USA who works from home and has a pack of 6 or so dogs who like to share her office. She awards employee of the month (with certificates) and posts pictures of meetings (all roaching on the sofas). It's very sweet.

picklemepopcorn · 22/02/2019 14:01

It's not the noise that bothers me so much, except when he's announcing he's hungry by putting his paws on my lap and barking.

It's more that I feel sleepy myself. There is nothing more relaxing than a dog's snores...

There wouldn't be a lot of competition for employee of the month here, me or him, and I'm biased.

YABVVU not to post a photo of Pickledog.

Jebuschristchocolatebar · 22/02/2019 14:10

Our cat likes to get extremely involved in video conferences, enjoys helping type emails by sitting in my knee and pressing keys and gets very annoyed if the lunch break is not strictly enforced.

picklemepopcorn · 22/02/2019 14:13

Oops, forgot the rules.

He's got his 'nooo, not a photo... leave me alone' face on.

He's actually a very pretty boy.

OP posts:
Jebuschristchocolatebar · 22/02/2019 14:21

He should be wearing a tie if he is in the office

picklemepopcorn · 22/02/2019 14:24

That's the heart of the problem, @Jebuschristchocolatebar . He says it's the lounge sofa. I say I'm working, so it's my office.

YABVU.
How can you not adore everything about such a handsome dog? Those eyes!

checkingforballoons · 22/02/2019 14:53

Oh look at him! Promote him immediately!

catlady3 · 22/02/2019 15:12

One of my cats hops on my desk and flops down in my arms for another little snooze every day at the same time when I work from home. It's the absolute best.

Maelstrop · 22/02/2019 15:21

I get big long suffering sighs, squeaks and downright whining when I’m working at home. I mean, they can’t get on my knee, nor can I hold them or endlessly stroke them whilst using the computer. Bad me!

picklemepopcorn · 22/02/2019 16:55

Very bad, @Maelstrop! Perhaps you could consider employing an office junior to attend to the needs of other staff? I have an office junior (DS2) who walks Pickledog every lunchtime.
Pickledog is an essential part of my operation, chasing off any birds or cats that may attempt to distract me by coming within 20' of the house.

Oh yes, he warns me if the postman is trying to break in again, too. You wouldn't believe how often the CF tries it on, makes pickledog rage, I tell ya.

Oh he's just adorable! Grin
