Last night -

  • woke up at 1am with alarm to give dd her inhaler
  • woke up with morning alarm
  • pressed snooze
  • presses snooze again
  • woke up in a panic because 2 snoozes inevitably means missing the train
  • checked clock, saw it was 10 past and decided I still had time
  • got up, brushed teeth, put work clothes on, put trainers and coat on
  • picked up phone to put in bag.
  • checked time
  • 2.35am 🤦‍♀️
I mean, seriously what sort of self respecting brain a) dreams that you’ve head an alarm and pressed snooze twice and b) doesn’t read the hour as well as the minutes?! 😩 Went back to bed, laid awake for 2 hours, woke up with proper alarm at 6am absolutely knackered!

Not really the same but I remember hearing banging on the door one morning, realised I'd missed my alarm and my friend was at the door to walk to college, threw my clothes on and down the stairs toothbrush in mouth to open the door... to a pair of firefighters telling me the river behind us had burst it's banks, move anything I could that was sentimental or valuable upstairs.
They looked at me strangely, brushing my teeth, I realised it was pitch black, looked at the clock it was 5am

It’s nice to see that I’m not the only one with a brain that obviously has its own agenda!
I hope you saved all of your possessions though. That must’ve been scary 🙁 x

Happened to me when I was at school!

Looked at the clock and it was 7.35 - shit bus comes in 40 minutes, better get a move on! Jumped up and got into the shower, washed my hair etc, went back to my room and checked the time... 00.45 👍🏻 I was so confused I just lay back in bed with wet hair in my towel and went back to sleep.

I told my parents the story in the morning and they couldn't understand why I hadn't noticed that no one else was up or that it was dark... Even though it was June and light from like 4am! FFS!

My husband did it too, was on late shift and thought it was 11am so got up and went and made coffee. He woke up at 1am sitting on the sofa with a cold coffee in his uniform! It was 11PM when he woke and he was actually on early shift so had only been in bed since 9pm!!!

It's not quite the same, but I once somehow sleep changed the time zone on my phone so got to work and realised my phone was wrong by three hours at it was actually 5am :/
