To think people should back off Meghan Markle

Just that really, she is pregnant, newly wed into our royal family, in a foreign country, getting used to the ways of royalty plus the people here, not many close friends in her immediate location and it seems the press, yes you Daily Fail, appear to be constantly pulling her apart and doing a complete character assassination, goading readers to put nasty comments online. Everything she does is scrutinised, her clothes, what she says, her putting her hands on her bump, holding hands with her husband, having a baby shower, fgs sake, no one is perfect, just leave her alone, let her have her child in peace and let her try to enjoy what should be the happiest time in her life instead of willing her to fail and picking her to pieces, surely enough is enough now?

I'm sure she prefers the scrutiny rather than the alternative.

She was knowledgeable enough in the ways of the world to know what she was getting into marrying into the Royal Family.

There are a few threads like these floating around. Confused

TwitToWoo · 20/02/2019 20:02

Are you joking?

You do realise that she sent out a minute-by-minute itinerary to the press for this “private” baby shower she’s having. Photographer barricades were put in place outside the restaurants & hotels she’s visting in advance.

She doesn’t want to be left alone. She wants to stick pics on IG of her tea. She wants her friends to tell the world how close to God she is. She wants everyone to see zelebs showing up to shower her with gifts.

If this latest display doesn’t show people who Meghan Markle actually is then nothing will.

AutumnCrow · 20/02/2019 20:02

If it's only the Daily Mail doing this, then you might (a) complain to the paper, (b) complain about the paper, (c) boycott the paper.

TulipsTulipsTulips · 20/02/2019 20:04

I agree

Good for her flying back to New York to spend time with her friends before she has her baby. Why not have a lavish baby shower? I hope she can stay true to herself and ignore all the miserable judgers.

LostInShoebiz · 20/02/2019 20:07

I agree but I don’t see why we need a new thread on this daily.

EntirelyAnonymised · 20/02/2019 20:07

I couldn’t give a flying shite about her and don’t know anyone in RL who does.

“Who Megan Markle really is..”

WTF? Some people are weirdly over invested.

theharlotletter · 20/02/2019 20:10

She was a professional actor, so something tells me that she most probably likes as much attention as is humanly possible.

sue51 · 20/02/2019 20:11

Its a bit tone deaf of her to do this so publicly at the moment. She can't be getting down with the people one minute then jetting off for a no expenses spared baby shower the next without getting a bit of a backlash. Her PR people should advise better. I have no objection to her spending her own cash, just do it discreetly.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 20/02/2019 20:17

Ive never seen a bad word said against her. As far as I can see I'll go as far as to say shes fawned over.
What am missing. Do i live on another planet.

As has been the posting pattern since I first joined. Often there seems to be a certain topic and three or four threads about the same thing or disguised as something different but resulting in the same thing seem to crop up at the same time.

TakemebacktoClifton · 20/02/2019 20:44

Yep, yep and yep. The way the media at large are vilifying her is nothing short of disgusting.

cabingirl · 20/02/2019 20:55

If you look at the majority of the stories about the Royal Family in the newspapers recently - especially about Meghan and Kate - they have nearly all been written based on or on the back of about five different people who either have a book out or appeared in a documentary that the TV producers want an audience for.

That doesn't excuse those who weigh in on the comments section with nasty stuff but the stories are being promoted to make money - for the newspapers, for the documentary makers, for the 'experts' writing books.

Take it all with a pinch of salt - especially anyone claiming to have 'inside' knowledge of what's being said/done/felt etc.

TryingReallyHard · 22/02/2019 21:09

To me it does not matter who pays for it but if someone (it could be anyone, it happened to be Meghan), who supposedly cares about humanitarian causes and the environment takes a private jet when she could have taken a commercial flight, does not feel right. This includes Mrs Clooney. Just wrong.
