I apologise for posting in AIBU as it’s a health issue, but I got no replies over in health and am getting myself into an anxious mess.
Does anyone know if taking antibiotics (Penicillin for 10 days) can delay ovulation and cause spotting? Happened to anyone else?
I think I recall having a weird cycle about 7 years ago after being on penicillin, but it was obviously a long time ago!
I’m on day 27 of my cycle and can tell that I still haven’t ovulated (I have clear symptoms) and have been spotting for the last week or so. I usually have a pretty regular cycle of around 34 days. I was on the antibiotics during my period and it was a little lighter and shorter than usual, so wondered at the time it I would have spotting at some point to flush out the remaining period...
Been very, very stressed and anxious recently so I know that won’t be helping! I have an undiagnosed (all tests except b strep coming back clear) infection/irritation going on in that area and am waiting to see a gynaecologist. I don’t actually think this is related, though, as the lack of ovulation points to hormonal.
