So my sister, my 2 ds and I were out for lunch in my local town centre. After the 2 ds had finished their mains they wanted a pudding. My eldest wanted chocolate cake which came with ice-cream but that wasn't on the children's menu, so I ordered it from the main menu and my 2 yr old dc could have the ice-cream as the oldest doesn't like it. Here's where it get ridiculous imo, I asked for a bowl for the ice-cream to be told they would have to then charge me for two puddings. Is that silly on their part?

Many be you could have just asked for two spoons? Or an empty bowl that you could have put the ice cream in?

Confusedbeetle · 19/02/2019 16:53

It is silly but just share the bowl. We regularly order one desert and two spoons

Mumof1DS · 19/02/2019 16:53

Sounds ridiculous logic to me

Readytogogogo · 19/02/2019 16:54

If you did and they said they'd charge for an empty bowl then YANBU

Alsohuman · 19/02/2019 16:54

Crazy. Two spoons.

Doyouneedthetoilet · 19/02/2019 17:50

They did at least give us 2 spoons.

What? I don’t understand. So they gave you an empty bowl but charged you for another pudding?

RestingBitchFaced · 19/02/2019 18:26

Ridiculous so what happened?

Doyouneedthetoilet · 19/02/2019 18:42

I fed the 2 Yr old with the extra spoon they gave us. No extra bowl.

Is it one of those places where you fill up the ice cream yourself, if so I can understand that.

Dreamzcancometrue · 19/02/2019 18:44

Really.

First world problems...

NataliaOsipova · 19/02/2019 18:45

Did they misunderstand what you were asking? Sounds ridiculous otherwise!

SummerHouse · 19/02/2019 18:50

I always ask for a hot choc split into two cups. I feel a bit cheap and cheeky but it is pretty much always given. Today it was three quid for a massive hot choc which is too much money, too much hot choc and too much sugar.

hidinginthenightgarden · 19/02/2019 18:52

I guess they are charging for the extra washing up in which case a nominal charge would perhaps be more acceptable.

littlemeitslyn · 20/02/2019 14:30

She did ask for an empty bowl ffs try

littlemeitslyn · 20/02/2019 14:31

Rtt not try 🙄

Piffle11 · 20/02/2019 14:38

Yes it's ridiculous. Puts me off going places like that again.
