OP, your photos remind me of a quote by the American humourist, Mark Twain who wrote "cats are sensitive creatures who suffer from a great many ailments but I have never met one who suffered from insomnia".
(The quote is pulled from memory so is probably not word-for-word accurate but it's close enough.)
Twain also said something along the lines of "a house is not a home without a cat".
