Hi there I’ve just had my hawley retainers tightened but they are too tight and put too much pressure on the teeth that sit under two of the bar bits (that you use to get the retainers out), so that they hurt overnight and when I take them off the teeth feel sore. If my ortho is away for a few weeks, can a dentist loosen the wires up for me a bit? Should I just put some kind of wadding between the bar and tooth to relieve the pressure? Many thanks
