To be enjoying Valentines this year

So I know it’s a load of commercial rubbish and all that sort of thing........ however.......... I’ve recently started a new relationship after leaving a physically and emotionally abusive on-and-off relationship of almost 4 years.
During those four years my ex never acknowledged birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries and definitely not valentines.

This year I have received completely unexpected, beautiful flowers from my new guy and a lovely hand written card. I spoiled him back, sending a potted orchid to his office - much to the amusement of his colleagues.

I guess I’m not so much enjoying valentines, but enjoying being with a guy who loves me and appreciates me and isn’t afraid to show it. He’s proud to be with me and I him and it feels so wonderful after years of feeling afraid, unloved, and unnoticed.

No way is that unreasonable. I'm more than a little envious. Have a pleasant evening.
