To by from an mlm?

I've always been pretty much against mlms and avoid but I was convinced into attending a norwex party - went because I hadn't seen those friends for ages and I missed them.

I ended up buying a couple of things and have since contacted the rep to buy more (not excessive but may buy more in the future). Is this a bad thing if there are products I want?

Clearly I mean buy not by. Goes and hides

It's not a bad thing as long as you don't get brainwashed into becoming a rep for them.

m0therofdragons · 14/02/2019 17:36

Haha, nope I already work full time on a good salary so no chance of that!

What's mlm?

Artfullydead · 14/02/2019 18:16

It is immoral and also the stuff is overpriced shite.

Birdie6 · 14/02/2019 18:16

RestingBitchFaced it's multi-level marketing, ie pyramid schemes, Avon, Nurimetics, that sort of selling.

YogaWannabe · 14/02/2019 18:21

What are the products? I bet we can find you better quality, better priced items OP.

MLMs are horrendous

confuzzzzzled · 14/02/2019 19:11

Noooo. Norwex claim to be a cloth that cleans with JUST water. This is impossible. It’s basically a glorified overpriced Microfibre cloth. And not to mention if you go to one of these ‘parties’ expect the MLM hun to message you frequently trying to get more sales out of you for as long as you live.

m0therofdragons · 14/02/2019 22:42

@confuzzzzzled the cloths have silver thread which is antibacterial - I work in a hospital and our curtains between beds are the same with silver due to antibacterial qualities. I've checked with a senior pharmacist and consultant and the science is legitimate.

I also use the make up remover cloths - water and a cloth is all it takes and my skin has never been better.

I was sceptical but I'm genuinely impressed.

Here you go OP - half the price of Norwex

The problem with buying from an MLM bot is that is leads them to think they can genuinely make a living from selling. They can't. And the more friends help perpetuate that myth, the more money they will shell out attending conferences and training courses and buying in product.

RabbityMcRabbit · 14/02/2019 23:08

I would't say buying from them is a problem but don't get sucked into joining them. You won't make any money and more than likely will lose some x

Changingweather · 14/02/2019 23:14

I bought from my mlm friend (cheapest thing I could), because I feel so sorry for her. She genuinely thinks she's running a fantastic new business and she'll be staggeringly rich in no time. Her Facebook group is so embarrassing I took pity on her and bought a £3 item. It is actually pretty nice, but since buying it I've had SO many messages and calls trying to recruit me. I won't be buying again.

thedogattacksthetissuebox · 14/02/2019 23:21

Op are you trying to sell Norwex? What's your Aibu because you sound convinced anyway that you're happy with the product

PolarBearDisguisedAsAPenguin · 14/02/2019 23:22

I don’t agree with the ethics of MLM so I refuse to support them out of principle, even if I thought what they were selling was amazing.

m0therofdragons · 14/02/2019 23:35

@thedogattacksthetissuebox ethically I don't agree with mlms I'm conflicted

nowt wrong with buying a few items, I'm sure most of us go shopping and don't buy the cheapest items every time.
As for becoming a rep, you have to be a specifically unique person to become well off, and the emphasis is on recruiting more people, rather than how many products you sell. Your friends will start to hide from you.
