To break up the party before 10pm?

My downstairs neighbours have been having some sort of incredibly loud party since about 6pm. My floor is vibrating and I can't hear myself think, and it's upsetting my pets. I've really had enough and want to go downstairs and tell them to knock it off, but am I being a spoilsport to do that before 10pm? There's also some kind of folk dance going on which is shaking plaster loose from my walls...

You could go and chap the door and ask them to keep it down but i guess there is no guarantee they will comply.

Awful as it sounds I think 11pm is a decent cut off time. But I empathise as my neighbours have parties all the time that make my house shake and it’s awful Sad

Who even has a big barbecue party on a Wednesday in the middle of February?

They're being unreasonable, it's 9pm so the noises have been happening for three hours now, yanbu, they're being unthoughtful. I had awful neighbours at my old house that did things like this everyday, loud parties what felt like every night. I got the police and landlords involved Thanks

They play loud music almost every night but generally turn it off by 10pm. But this feels like it's set in for the night.

I get that it seems unreasonable to complain about noise when I'm not actually being kept awake, but it's really intrusive being able to hear all that when I'm trying to read or watch TV. It's awful to feel like you can't relax in your own home. I've had some MH issues recently and I'm feeling irrationally tearful over it now - my flat is supposed to be my haven and instead it feels as if it's going to collapse on me!

Grace,

Call the police. They'll sort it out
