I follow this. Have lost and sustained loss of two stone sjnce August. I eat healthily and no ready meals. I still eat crisps and drink wine. Basically fruit veg chicken fish (most) eggs are 'free' then you point the rest.

I can't lose weight without some help as I'm a pig

BlitheringIdiots · 13/02/2019 07:37

Oh and I'm not a snacker so I find plenty of points for the things I want to eat. Last night had a rice and tuna dish. We have pasta. Scrambled eggs and omelettes. Casserole. Roast. Basically I eat as I did before but less crap

We find things like sugar free jelly or fluff' (jelly mixed with natural fat free yoghurt) are great to keep in the fridge if you have a sweet craving, or lots of fruit

I'm doing WW. I lost 6lbs in my first month. And I ate McDonald's, chip shop chips, chocolate, lattes... The difference being I food so in moderation, counted them and really enjoyed them! And I'm eating far better for my main meals.

I recommend getting some of the snacks each week; the chocolate crunch protein bars are amazing and they've just started doing these hazelnut chocolate sticks which I could happily live on.

Good luck with it!

WW does the trick - if you keep the food records and 'earn' points by exercising, it's really easy and effective.

Madein1995 · 13/02/2019 08:46

I love WW! Been doing it just over a month and lost 11lb, I'm enjoying it too. I find it much more flexible than other diet plans. You get a daily allowance, mine is 26points then you have your weeklies, usually 42, to use as you need on top. You're encouraged to exercise and there is much more emphasis on health and well-being.

It's doubly flexible. You can literally have whatever you want - a chocolate hot cross bun, a subway, a Tesco meal deal, and as it's not banned don't feel need to binge. You just adjust that days food. Last week I had a subway and cookie and lost 5lb.

The exercise part is fab. I've only just discovered it on the app. I've decided to start doing a walk each lunchtime and a strength one each evening. There's some for all levels, beginner to advanced, and you can move at your own pace. There's also meditation on there which is good though I've not used it yet.

For an idea of what I eat daily, today's plan is

Buttered toast and Banana

Grilled chicken wrap, WW sour cream lentil curls, fruit.

Am in work til late so snack mid afternoon will be WW protein cheese crackers and 21g Philadelphia (last left in pot). Have ww sweets for just in case, hopefully won't need them

Peanut satay stir fry for dinner

And that's ending with 4 points to spare!

The best thing for me is it fits in with my life. Yes I tend to plan my meals in advance but if I go to Tesco for a meal deal or need to eat somewhere quick (eg volunteering), I can go to subway or the supermarket and get something that doesn't break the bank, and that isn't another bloody salad!

Good luck

PutyourtoponTrevor · 13/02/2019 09:16

I've lost 8.5 stone on WW over the last 1.5 years. I don't use any of their products though, mostly cook from scratch. Works for me

Madein1995 · 13/02/2019 09:16

Main meals include :

Stir fries with variety of sauces

Bolognese

Chilli

Pasta bake

Curry and rice

Homemade pizza

Fajitas

Wraps

Homemade burgers and fries (turkey or mince)

Chicken jambalaya

Roast dinners

Pork with roasted potatoes and salad

Chicken with vegetable rice and veg

Quite a samey list there! I need to get experimenting but am trying desperately to save money so possibly next Month!

LagunaBubbles · 13/02/2019 09:27

I took the plunge and joined 3 weeks ago and I've lost 8lbs. It suits me because there are lots of food I don't like really so plan my meals within my daily points of stuff I do. I was a member years ago and with the app now its so much easier to count and keep track of your points, like using the bar code scanner. I like the weekly points to. I'm trying not to focus on tbe fact I have a lot of weight to lose!

GiBlues · 13/02/2019 09:31

Have you considered the 16:8 diet?
You fast for 16 hours per day, (most of that I sleeping) and then eat normally in the 8 hour window.
I did it 2 years ago and lost 6 1/2 stone in 9 months, to maintain I follow it Monday to Friday and eat freely over the weekends.
Just a suggestion

Gemmamb · 13/02/2019 09:37

After being on both ww and slimming world I've found slimming world to be more easier and successful for me as it has less restrictions I've lost 5st 3lb on slimming world so far but gave up ww after 1 month x

PutyourtoponTrevor · 13/02/2019 10:08

Gemmamb what restrictions are there on WW?

Madein1995 · 13/02/2019 12:27

I find the opposite gem. I worked in Tesco when I was doing SW and due to being on a 0hr contract my hours changed all the time. For eg I'd come in at 7 for a 5hr shift and bring no food. Is be asked to stay an extra 6hrs and have to buy food there. On SW you're told you can't carry syns over, it's certainly not as easy to do as ww. Due to the focus on home cooked food (which is good but not always realistic), even the healthy range sandwiches are 12 syns plus, so I had the option of having ham and egg pots and being resentful, or thinking fuck it, I've had the chicken wrap, I've ruined it, let's binge. Where on ww you can have a wrap, crisps and drink for about 18bpoints so still 8 left for the day. Different strokes and all that, but I think it's much more realistic. It looks at the week as a whole, not at each day individually. On SW they say nothing is banned. When a pizza is 24suns and you're told you can't save syns regularly then in reality you can't have it. You can have a massive plate of spaghetti Bolognese with cheese on top for 0 syns but a simple shop bought sandwich can be 13syns!

IWantChocolates · 13/02/2019 15:25

I love connecting my fitbit to the app too, so my eating is automatically converted to activity points. I don't eat those so it helps the weight loss.

B3ck89 · 13/02/2019 16:11

Yeah I didn’t like slimming world, especially for their lack of teaching portion control.
Really didn’t like the classes and the whole clapping at loss or gain, was very odd and embarrassing Hmm
Love weight watchers... I’ve had a pretty shit week and have had some pig out days, but still lost 2.5lb this week. Not sure if it’s because I’m breastfeeding, if it is I’m still happy with that Grin
I’m sooooo much in love with the waffles, I’m going to find some low fat ice cream to have with
