To be upset by them saying this?

Me and OH went out with his brother and his brothers partner last week for my birthday.
On two occasions on the night they said I said I don't talk unless I've had a drink.

I always talk to his girlfriend but don't really talk to his brother. It's made me feel very uncomfortable because they have obviously both been speaking about me behind my back.

I'm naturally a quiet person I'm not loud and rowdy like them two. Their both really different to the kind of friends I have so I find it difficult to talk to them.

I actually feel upset about the whole thing OH is annoyed by it. But I just can't help it I am quiet.

Maybe having a drink makes you feel a bit more chatty and sociable, it does for most people. It sounds like you do chat to the gf anyway. Don't worry about it

Why don't you talk to his brother? If my brother's partner didn't really speak to me, I'd have to say something too! Is your OH annoyed at them or you? Also I wouldn't fixate on them talking behind your back, do you not discuss people with your partner?

I am also a very calm person by nature and the noise is very unpleasant to me. The main thing is not to get upset in this situation. Everything will be fine and good.

Maybe his brothers wife not talking to him bothers him?

I am a very quiet person too but it almost sounds like you ignore him which isn’t good
