Yet again rain stops play - why oh why dont they use some of the millions poured into tennis to put a roof on some of the courts?

Title should read "having no roof" sorry!

They could have used the white elephant known as the dome. That was my thought after it was shut.

But there is no roof at all on centre court at the moment because they are in the middle of building the roof to end all roofs, an all singing all dancing roof that predicts the weather forecast!

Oh now now we have to watch an old match of the 80's. What's the point of that?
They've surely could of finished the new roof within the year since last Wimbledon.
Ooh i do sound an old grump.

I don't understand why they only got matches starting at 12 noon today. Some matches have been going on for days (Nadal vs Soderling for instance - started on Saturday!), and they haven't been this behind since 1982.

Why don't they at least start a bit earlier, when the weather is likely to be "better"?

actually matches started at 11

I certainly agree that court 1 and Centre court (the two 'proper stadiums' so to speak) should have a roof - but unfortunately the other 16 courts aren't really 'roofable' by the looks of things - and with 4/5 matches a day planned on those 16 courts (that's 80 matches a day) they'd still be way behind schedule......
