Sacla pesto that’s cheaper. The Sainsburys one I opened is foul and my tea is spoilt. First world problem but tell me your favourite pesto
Or any other stuff you always buy a brand of. I’m bored

Hmm I wonder if you can freeze stuff you make yourself (more expensive if you can’t, obviously) or if that would make it gross?

ShadyLady53 · 10/02/2019 20:09

I actually really like Aldi’s.

Hated Fillipo Berrio which I got at B&M

LellyMcKelly · 10/02/2019 20:29

In a word, no. Sacla is the best. I’ve tried all the others and they’re not as good. I even made my own which cost a fortune (fresh basil, pine nuts and Parmesan) and it still wasn’t as good as the Sacla one. It has a sharp tangy saltiness that hits the spot like no other pesto.

marvellousnightforamooncup · 10/02/2019 20:32

I like Aldi pesto too, especially the red one.

letsdolunch321 · 10/02/2019 20:41

Love the green pesto from Aldi, have the red pesto to try soon.

lostinjapan · 10/02/2019 20:46

Poundstretcher sell massive 950g jars of Sacla pesto for £1.49.

Teenagemaw · 10/02/2019 20:51

M&s or lidl

ihatethecold · 10/02/2019 20:52

Aldi pesto is made with bamboo fibre

Averysmallcasserole · 10/02/2019 20:53

Oh my word. Must get to poundstretcher. I agree totally that Sacla just hits the spot

Will give Aldi a go though too.
I don’t need branded ketchup and mayo but it annoys me having to not have pesto or try to use up rubbish pesto!

Another vote for Aldi here. It's definitely the closest I've ever had to homemade.

roses2 · 10/02/2019 20:59

Aldi pesto tastes nothing like Sacla. I've tried many dupes but nothing comes close to Sacla. I stock up when I find it in offer.

mommybear1 · 10/02/2019 20:59

Costco do a lovely pesto - Bestoli I think is the brand hands down better than ALDI

Aridane · 10/02/2019 21:00

I just stock up on sacla when it's on promotion. I love their love and tomato intense one

Aridane · 10/02/2019 21:01

(not pesto but still sacla)

DorothyZbornak · 10/02/2019 21:01

I meant the fresh one from Aldi. I know they do a jar one too, usually kept near the dried pasta.

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 10/02/2019 21:01

DH knocked a new jar of the fancy Aldi one on to the floor and it smelled nice when I was cleaning it up.

Herja · 10/02/2019 21:01

There's two types of Aldi pesto, one cheaper than the other. The cheapest one is not good imo, but I do really like the other one.

Averysmallcasserole · 10/02/2019 21:02

So posh Aldi version or a fresh one from the fridge? Thank you! And I feel less alone in my Sacla obsession!
