To not wear a suit to an interview?

Have a job interview coming up to be a teacher in a posh private school. Should I wear a suit or would a nice smart dress suffice?

Wel to me a smart dress with coordinating jacket is a suit

I work in a posh private school and most female interviewees seem to wear nice dresses or skirts and blouses to interview.

I think that’s especially fine because you’d not be expected to wear a suit if you got the job.

Interestingly whilst we’re definitely ‘posh’, staff are quite casual day to day. It’s nice.

I have never worn a suit to an interview (I've never owned a suit and fully intend to keep it that way!). You can be perfectly smart without a suit.
