To want to leave nursing?

I've been a nurse for 10 years. I loved the job, but the lack of resources and rife bullying culture is wearing me down.

Does anyone have experience of leaving the profession, and if so, were you able to use your training as another career route?

I have two nursing degrees.

Could you try a different specialty? Seems such a shame to lose such an experienced and highly qualified professional?

Can I ask what form the bullying takes place as? Is it something that’s particularly unique to nursing or is it your ward/speciality or hospital or is it across all roles in the NHS?

Can you change specialities? Something more 9-5 perhaps?

HopeDog · 07/02/2019 21:10

Yes, perhaps a different speciality is an option. I have worked my way up to a senior position and changing speciality will mean going back to a lower pay band. This is difficult due to financial commitments.

Do you have or would consider doing your Masters? Universities are always looking for Lecturers

Maybe Research?
