Use up everything in your store cupboard/ freezer

ATBhinchers · 07/02/2019 19:19

I need to do this for a month
Its impossible with a toddler though!

Princessmushroom · 07/02/2019 19:21

Shop your home. You will be surprised at what you have!

NeverTwerkNaked · 07/02/2019 19:22

Get flu! I havenโ€™t spent a penny this week. Havenโ€™t even eaten anything much so cupboards are still full.

Moneymoneymoney1 · 07/02/2019 19:24

@NeverTwerkNaked is quite right. Same here. Feel better!

Moneymoneymoney1 · 07/02/2019 19:36

@NeverTwerkNaked that would probably be the worst for me because I would be too ill to cook for the DC so I would end up eating out ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜ญ

Every time you get tempted by something, go online, add to basket and then wait a day. I always change my mind after 24hrs!

ATBhinchers · 07/02/2019 20:11

@Passthecake30 I've started doing this and it does work!

hazell42 · 07/02/2019 21:36

Why though? What's the point of having it if you never spend it?
It's like buying lots of chocolate and never eating it. Defeats the object.

Moneymoneymoney1 · 07/02/2019 21:39

@hazell42 to save for bigger reasons I suppose (and it looks so good on my online banking screen ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚)

When I earnt good wages I was like Viv Nicholls Grin and then some!
I do wonder if growing up poor played some part in this but thankfully at the ripe old age of 46 I'm managing to save and hope that when I do return to well paid work I'll be able to be more sensible.

hazell42 · 07/02/2019 21:49

And when you can afford the bigger things do you buy them, or will you keep on waiting and saving?
Obviously it's good to have some reserves but I've never understood the allure if saving for savings sake. My mother scrimped her whole life and died without spending anything. I always thought it a shame
Each to their own though

Moneymoneymoney1 · 08/02/2019 07:34

@hazell42 yes of course otherwise I would have no car or home etc. I also have two DC so obvs I need to spend on them ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ
