To dump these rubbish bags?

The council provide two wheelie bins for my house - a recycling bin and a normal waste, in addition to a box for glass. We keep our bins just outside of back gate (as do most of our neighbours with houses). There is a block of apartments quite close to the entrance of our back gate, they have their own bin storage which has a combination lock attached so the houses can not access.

Several times a week, mixed recycling/glass/rubbish bags are left in either of our bins (not sorted), I'm sure it's someone from the flats who cba to open the combination lick for their own bins. I've just went to the bin with a bag of rubbish to find it overflowing with a bag (not ours) and another big bag of mixed rubbish next to our bins. I just took these out and left them outside the door of the communal bins (a few steps away), so I could put my own rubbish in the bin. It's quite overlooked by the flats so possible someone seen me. WIBU?

YANBU. Put a padlock on your bins.

MyKingdomForBrie · 07/02/2019 12:03

I would tell the council rather than dump rubbish.

What annoys me the most it that they don't sort or use the correct bins (clearly labelled). When I have ever had the cheek put rubbish in someone else's bin (e.g. an empty drinks can while out and about then I would always use the correct bin)!

This happened to me. found some post, dumped it back outside theirs. Infuriating!

Take your bins inside your back gate until just before collection time.

WhatTheNightBrings · 07/02/2019 12:35

Put the bins in your garden?

coffeeforone · 07/02/2019 12:53

Thanks for the suggestions. The only place where they could realistically go would make for a very tight pathway to get pram/car seat past daily. I can't decide which is more inconvenient!

You can get locks for wheelie bins that the lorries can unlock just by tipping the bin. An example is here - http://www.wheeliebindirect.co.uk/epages/BT3433.mobile/enGB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/BT3433/Products/GL&Locale=enn_GB

Only work if your buns are wheelie bins though?

happyasasandboy · 07/02/2019 13:11

Bins; not buns. See a GP if your buns look like wheelie bins.

Someone once filled my dads skip with rubbish when we were moving (so dumping loads of stuff) he put it back in their front garden blocking their car. They had put in a full arm chair and all. Some people are just pure cheeky YANBU
