gastroscopy- no info on letters

My DH has a gastroscopy (camera down throat into stomach) tomorrow does anyone know how long this usually takes? Will he be medicated etc... nothing on the letter other than he can bring someone with him... not very helpful at all.

Actual procedure about 15 mins (in my experience)

He may be offered a numbing spray or a sedation.

I was sedated but I chose this option beforehand. I was really worried about it so I chose to know as little about it as possible. There was some recovery period afterwards but I don't think it was that long as it isn't full sedation. You aren't knocked out completely, just given something which basically knocks out most of your memory of it afterwards.
