to think all futons uncomfortable?

Sorry for the dullness of this thread, but I need to run this past someone.

I am poised to eject two Futon stacker Beds from my home, because the only mattresses which fit are so bloody uncomfortable.

I can't knowingly put my lovely in laws through another night of back breaking hell when they come to visit.

Does a comfortable small single futon mattress exist? Is there any other brand I could try?

God Futons are truly awful uncomfortable things. Get rid and buy them a nice comfy bed in its place.

FuzzyPuffling · 05/02/2019 15:03

There is no such thing as a comfortable futon.

I found a thick mattress topper helped.

I have always been very uncomfortable on the futons I’ve slept on!

MargoLovebutter · 05/02/2019 15:08

Not as far as I'm aware. It is all I can do on the odd occasion I stay with friends and they point me to their spare futon bed, not to openly cry or immediately get in the car and drive home.

If you can't afford a new bed, or you don't have space, I think the suggestion of a thick mattress topper would work. I've known really awful normal beds be transformed by a memory foam topper.

We have an amazing one from the Futon Company. Very comfortable as a sofa or a bed.

Our mattresses were from the Futon Company but we found them unbearable Sad

The dogs like my in laws so took to protest peeing on the mattresses every opportunity they got so they have had to go.

I'd like to replace them but can't find any which look more comfortable than lying on a hard floor with only a beach towel for comfort.

I actually have a single comfort mattress from Futon Company which is brilliant, but doesn't fit the compact proportions of the bloody stacker beds.

It's hopeless isn't it?
