AIBU to ask for good, quick cystitis remedies?

I’ve just finished a horrible, heavy 10 day period and was celebrating my first day of period free-ness yesterday, when at bedtime I had one of those hot, slightly burning wees Sad Then up all night felling like I need a wee, and having tiny burning wees. So straight from horrible period to cystitis - argh!

Does anyone have any quick remedies or ways to make it more bearable? I know that sometimes I can kind of fight it off without needing antibiotics but I’ve got to get through a day at work before I can get to a chemist/get cranberry juice.

Obvs I’ll go to the gp if doesn’t clear up quickly but I can’t handle another sleepless night Sad

My go to is baking powder (tbsp) mixed in with a glass of water. Yes, it tastes vile, but it deffo works. I down it very quickly, then continue to drink plenty of water and it clears without needing antibiotics. I get UTI's quite regularly. :(

To the people who recommend bicarbonate of soda, thank you so much! Only had that in the house this morning so drank that, got to work and had a huge wee with no burning and I haven’t had the pain since either Smile

This is only the 3rd time I’ve had cystitis luckily (I’m 40) so it’s not a regular thing, but I will keep in a stock of everything people have recommended on this thread just in case!

I would love to drink a ton of water and wee every 45 minutes but I’m teaching, and have achieved a massive 2 toilet breaks. Not feeling any pain or sensation that I need to wee though so far but I will drink and wee to my hearts content when I get home.

Thank you lovely people!
