Would you take a first response test in these circumstances?

Last period was Dec 12th.

Was due around Jan 10th.

My period didn't come. When it was a week late I had a negative test.

When I was 3 weeks late I had this light positive photo. It was clearer in person. Was hard to photograph.

After that test I got a negative pound shop test.

On 2nd Feb I started my period. I usually have a heavy 6 day flow.

I had pinky red blood when I wiped (not a tiny amount. I usually start with brown spotting)

I prepared for a period and bought pads. I've had nothing since.

I bought 2 first response from boots for £10

I was going to return them when my period started but it's not a normal period at all. By now I would have gone through 3/4 pads a day but there is NOTHING when I wipe. Nothing at all.

I'm a bit skint so could do with the tenner back really.

But would you do the first response in a few days if I've had no more blood by then.

I would do a first response.

When I was pregnant I had what I thought was a period but was v light so yes I would test but with cheap ones if you need the tenner back. You should get a result on a normal test if you were due a while ago. Good luck!

You'll just keep wondering if you don't do one.

I would get your tenner back and test using a Poundland one. If you're pregnant, it will show up clearly. If it's another negative result, make a GP appointment to check there's no other reason for the light bleeding you've had. Are you hoping to be pregnant?

Pieceofpurplesky · 04/02/2019 15:07

Do the test. It will drive you mad if you don't. If negative go to the doctors.

Suziepoozie · 04/02/2019 15:08

Is it one of the tests that says pregnant or not pregnant? If it is I’d do it just so you know. But up to you!

Couple of ideas here.

  1. Chemical Pregnancy, body started to do something but stopped extremely early. Results normally in a delayed period. Mine was a lot lighter in colour and was a shorter period too, but not 2 days short.
  1. Implantation bleeding, if you have quite a long or irregular cycle and had sex in the appropriate window the light bleeding could be from the egg implanting in your uterus. Not everyone gets this, but mine was extremely light pink and lasted just under 2 days.

I think you have to wait a few days after implantation to get a Positive on a test, I waited 3 i think and got a very faint positive. Which was solid after another two days. Hope this helps.

Hmm.ok. I will hold onto it for a few days. Thanks
