Painting and decorating costs

I've always done all painting and decorating myself in the past but don't have any time to do this anymore. We really need to paint 2 rooms in the house (including ceilings, skirting boards and doors).

Can anyone please give me any idea of the costs that I should expect for this work? I know it does depend on the size of the rooms but just need a rough idea. The work is purely cosmetic. There is no damage on walls and nothing major is needed. Thank you, all, in advance.

My ex is a painter and decorator. he charges about £150/day plus materials. Get a price for the job rather than pay day work, and make sure you get it all in writing.

We got a large room repainted and wallpaper on one wall for £220 (central Scotland)

Just had two bedrooms painted. Rooms are 16ft by 14ft and 18ft by 14ft. Some walls needed stripping and lining paper put up. Walls and ceilings painted , all gloss work which included 2 windows in each room, skirtings, picture rails and fireplace. All paint included in the price. Took 7 working days £850 for both rooms. Fantastic job too.
