Nearly 33 weeks pregnant suffering with a really bad back not sure what it is but I feels like I’ve torn a muscle in my lower back I’m having to limp everywhere.
(We are of an Asian culture).
I live with my in laws and they’ve invited their family over from abroad to stay for 2 weeks.

I’ve been at home for the past week and have my first antenatal class to go to tomorrow morning then I was planning to go to see my mum. But I’m literally expected to stay home and help out with everything (cooking washing) and it’s so tiring especially with this back pain. When I take a seat I feel like they’re all staring at me.
Nobody seems to have an sympathy for me they don’t seem to care how much pain I am in it’s so upsetting.
They make me feel bad for going out because they have their family over but I’ve been indoors all week! I’m pregnant and I just want to rest sometimes but I’m not doing that at home either.
AIBU??

YANBU! You're pregnant, if anyone deserves a rest it's you. What's DH got to say about it?

Floralhousecoat · 01/02/2019 18:22

Your dh needs to stand up for you as his wife and unborn child. Is he supportive?

It's not your duty to entertain their guests, especially being pregnant and unwell.

YANBU. Go out and enjoy your day. Any chance you could move out? They sound horrible.

Pinkroses1 · 01/02/2019 18:47

DH is telling me not worry about them and to go out.
I can imagine the look on their faces the next day but I don’t care I’m pregnant and should be enjoying the last weeks of my pregnancy, we actually have a lot to do and sort out but we can’t until they’ve gone which is annoying!
Unfortunately some families in our culture still see woman as a maid no matter if she’s pregnant or whatever it is.
Were planning to move soon hopefully I can’t bloody wait!

Go out! Wherever you do won’t please them, so you might as well do what you want. Trust me, I’ve been there.
Anyway, you’re first Antenatal class is really important. You can’t miss it.😁
