About DP and the dentist

Genuinely not sure who is BU here!

DP is going to the dentist’s today for a filling. He wants me to go with him then sit in the waiting room while he has it done. I asked if it was because he was nervous and he replied that he definitely doesn’t want me in the waiting room.

DP drives so it’s not that he needs a lift, he doesn’t want a hand hold and there really is no practical reason I should accompany him when I’ve got lots to be getting on with this afternoon.

AIBU and a bit mean for not seeing the point in both of us going?!

Ask him why? Does he think he will feel unwell to drive home?

Has he had a bad experience at the dentist before ? - Sometimes people react badly to the local anaesthetic or feel unwell afterwards. Anyway if he wants you to be there, I would (I see you have actually ) if it makes him feel better.

I aways have to take someone but it's because I react weirdly to the anaesthetic and am not safe to drive afterwards.

I have to have someone with me because I get panic attacks when undergoing anything medical like that.

I’m pleased to report DP is alive, well and even managed to pop into a cute little pub with me on the way home to take advantage of their log burner
