To hate neighbour's flashing alarm?

Hi does anyone else have this problem?

At the back of our house we have bi-fold doors so we look onto the backs of houses of the next street to ours.

The thing is, one of these houses clearly has a security alarm box and it flashes every 1 - 2 seconds, like a baby lighthouse beacon. It is starting to really annoy me. Obviously I appreciate there is nothing practical to be done as of course they're entitled to install a security system of their own choosing, but why does the light have to keep flashing all the bloody time?

I tried to find some answers from Google but got nowhere. Any answers on Mumsnet, please?

Go and tell them, it probably only wants the code put in it to reset it

It would really annoy me too. Could you ask your neighbour to cover it in some way, bit of tape over the flashing light?
Don't know if it flashes just to let you know it's working, or whether it needs to be visible make it to work.
I suspect it's there to warn any intruders that there is an alarm, but it might be possible to rig up a cover that blocks the light to your window, but still could be mainly visible to any intruders who would be checking for such things?

Ah there's a thought - could it be they need to re-set the code? I may contact them about it. Thanks for suggesting that.

Ours flashes after the alarm has been set off, you put the code in once to shut it up and then again to stop it flashing, it's so you know it's been activated if the noise has stopped

I disconnected the fuse on mine to stop this happening after a fault. Not normal

Ours flashes gently, more that a little light bulb comes on (red) and goes out slowly, then repeats. Not bright. Means at night you can see we have an alarm (whether turned on or not)
