To not cancel the trip?

Off to London this weekend for daughters birthday . Been booked for ages but this week DD and DS have both had temps and coughs and been off school and now it's been awful snow today with more promised tomorrow!! Do we still try and go and risk not getting there and losing money for train tickets and hotel or would you cancel now and rearrange? We are due to see a show which we will lose as I didn't get cover (I know that was U) but at least not hotel and train fees however she will be devastated as it is her actual birthday on Sat!
Really torn on whether to go or not!

I wouldn't go. If she's not 100% well she won't enjoy the show as much as she will when she's better, the risk of delays/issues with the trains are high and London in heavy snow is just miserable. Beautiful, but miserable.

Where are you based? I'm just outside London and there's no snow and none forecast to settle right now

moanymoaner · 30/01/2019 14:03

@MiniCooperLover north wales!!

Don't cancel. Are there confirmed problems on the line you're travelling on?

moanymoaner · 30/01/2019 14:04

I don't think London is due snow but we are so I'm more worried about not actually getting to the train. Once on the train I think it will be fine! I'm so torn. She's feeling a little better today and has been so so excited!!

@Doyoumind not as far as I know no.

Why would you cancel? Keep helping the kids get better and see how the land lies nearer the time.

Beachmummy23 · 30/01/2019 14:27

I would risk it. We had the same issue last year in the snow. Last minute everything cleared and we had the best time

moanymoaner · 30/01/2019 14:32

@Beachmummy23 that makes me feel better! I'm worried if I don't cancel in advance we will lose a lot of money because the hotel is only able to be cancelled until the morning we travel!

I would definitely still go! If they had D&V probably not, but a temperature and cough plus feeling a bit better today bodes well.

Depends if you can get to the train station ok etc. No snow here in London at the moment!

moanymoaner · 31/01/2019 20:03

I'm looking at the snow in London and panicking that I won't get there and lose a lot of moneyConfused
