80 year old lady - birthday gift!

Hello, posting for traffic, sorry!

I need to buy a birthday gift for an 80 year old lady. I've only met her once so have no idea what she is/isn't in to, so it needs to be something generic but I'd like it to be thoughtful.

Any ideas?

Happy to spend up to £50ish. It'll be split between me and another person.

Thank you!

We got dh nan a Dartington crystal vase for her birthday. She loved it. Think it was about £40 from John Lewis. And of course some flowers to put in it Flowers

I go with fail safe hampers.

A box of these and a bunch if flowers in a nice vase?
Assuming she has no allergies Confused

What about some nice spring flowers and an afternoon tea voucher. FlowersBrew

A trip out to a garden centre for lunch and a browse

I like @IamaBluebird's suggestion. My Gran is in her 80's and she appreciates anything as she says it's a sign someone cares. Even flowers or a plant please her.

An alternative idea...look on dcuk.com because you can personalise the ducks. They're a nice little gift, I was gifted a couple and whilst I'd never have bought them myself, they're my favourite things now because they're personal to me. Got my Gran one for Christmas with her name on and she thought it was fab!

@whitetoblerone I had never heard of dcuk but just had a look and LOVE them!! Thank you!

Thank you everyone for your ideas - I think chocolates/lovely vase/flowers, or a combination of all will be perfect.

Off I scoot to town...

@HolidayReads I know, I'd never heard of them either but once gifted one I wanted more! They're lovely aren't they. If not for a gift for your friend, maybe one for yourself? Grin

@whitetoblerone I may have already added a couple to my online basket......

Guess what my family are all getting for their birthdays this year Grin
