To be excited about having a bath for the first time in 8 years

I swear I'm not a scruffy cow, I shower daily sometimes twice. Baths have never been my thing, I can think of nothing more boring then sitting in one for more than 5 mins.

However I've had this darn cold and sore throat for 3 weeks now and nothing seems to be shifting it and my bones are achey.

I've bought some bath salts and am eagerly awaiting the DC to fall asleep then I can relax in the bath for half and hour and maybe even read a book, this is so unlike me, what's happening?!

I had my first bath in 7 yrs yesterday. We only have a shower and we're in a travelodge this weekend. My friend got me some lavender bath salts for my birthday. I also have the cold from hell.
The bath here is about four foot long and not too wide. I managed to lay on my front with my legs out the water the rest of me in the lukewarm water for a bit till I started coughing and creating massive tidal waves. Decided to turn over which proved interesting as there is some sort of non slip sandpaper stuff stuck to the bottom of the bath. Skinned my knuckles, elbows and other bits.
Never again.
Hope you enjoy your bath!

I love baths, but I'm so rushed for time, I mostly shower. Might have a bath once a month with bubble bath and a face mask, while listening to some music or a podcast. I always come out ridiculously relaxed and sleepy ☺️ enjoy your bath!

Ooh lovely! Put your jamas on the radiator for extra cosy after your bath too! And find your favourite book Smile

We moved house had a bath for first time in 5 years, after 5 mins bored and getting cold... not bothered again since Grin

I was so disappointed DH can spend an hour reading in the bath!

Rowgtfc72 I don't think I've ever considered having a bath face down... and probably never will!

PerfectPeony · 26/01/2019 21:51

I thought this was going to be because you don’t own a bath!!

8 years. Shock

I have a bath nearly every day during winter, and all the time in summer too. It’s my favourite time to relax.

I love a bath. I shower to get clean but a bath is purely for relaxation.

YANBU

I'm definitely not a bath person. I've always been a total waterbaby (so love swimming/being in the sea etc), but I've always preferred showers.

However, now I'm pregnant and constantly sore, and a bath is the only place I'm comfortable. Bloody love it now!!
Enjoy!!!

No I've had an actual beautiful massive bath since I moved in 9 years ago but it's only the DC who use it.

I lasted 30 mins which is amazing for me, although it started off nice and relaxing, I ended up getting far too cold but it was even colder when I started getting out so I got back in again for another ten minutes.

It's made me feel really sleepy so can't complain, I'm going to bed now and hopefully the rest will make me feel better but I think I'll stick to my super hot showers everyday and leave the baths for once a month or something, it wasn't bad but not overly enjoyable.
