To make my husband get up early

I have spent the past hour in the loo being ill. Have come back to bed and he is snoring. Loudly. Constantly. Every breath shakes the bed. I won't, but oh my god I wish I could just hit him over the head with a pillow and tell him to get up and go away. I would go and sleep on the sofa, but I don't want to be that far from the loo and if I do he will sulk for the rest of the day. I'm not allowed to complain about his snoring, I ha e to pretend it doesn't happen.

Why does he sulk if you go sleep on the sofa? He knows he snores. He shld go sleep on the sofa if you're unwell anyway. Do you have some earplugs?

artisanscotcheggs · 23/01/2019 05:47

Bloody hell he sounds like a right twat.

Oakmaiden · 23/01/2019 05:50

Gods knows why he sulks. He is all "I am so upset I disturbed you" but really he just comes across as offended I have complained (or not complained - but made the fact he was disturbing me clear).

I can't wear earplugs as I get eczema in my ears and it aggravates it. I prefer the idea of muffling the sound by applying a pillow to his head...

He probably doesn't realise I have been unwell tonight.

I was with someone who snored so he got checked out at a sleep clinic. Had a very simple op, straight in and out that day. Snoring cured. So now I would never be with someone who snored to that extent and refused to seek help. It’s selfish.

Fightingfit2019 · 23/01/2019 05:58

Wake him up, tell him to go on the sofa as you are afraid you will be sick over him as you are so unwell.

Fightingfit2019 · 23/01/2019 05:59

Oh and I hope you fell better soon OP, being unwell sucks.

timeisnotaline · 23/01/2019 06:03

Just be sick on him?

AJPTaylor · 23/01/2019 06:06

I have a husband like that. We moved recently and I invested in an excellent quality spare bed!

jessstan2 · 23/01/2019 06:12

I bought a snoring stop thingy for my husband from the chemist, he sprays it at the back of his throat and it works. It's not healthy to snore too much so you'll be doing him a favour too. Mine's used to build up to a crescendo and then there would be silence in which I thought he'd stopped breathing altogether. Then it started again.

If he is snoring now and stopping you having sleep, gently wake him, give him pillow and cover, explain you're exhausted from being so ill and tell him to go and sleep on sofa. Guiding him there if necessary.

Itsnotme123 · 23/01/2019 06:31

I would be going onto the sofa myself. Just to keep the peace. Men eh ? But as you don’t want to be far from the loo then wake him up and tell him you’re not well.

WFTisgoingoninmyhead · 23/01/2019 06:43

I would wake him just to tell him you are ill, when he says “why wake me up to say that” say “ oh I thought someone making that much noise must already be awake, seeing as your up now can you go sleep on the sofa for a bit you are driving me fucking crazy”

Thehop · 23/01/2019 06:48

Go to the sofa. Let him sulk.

PumpkinPie2016 · 23/01/2019 06:49

He needs to see his GP regarding snoring! My husband was terrible for snoring about a year ago. I couldn't get any sleep because of it.

He was prescribed a nasal spray to use twice a day. Snoring cured!

People who snore need to realise it impacts on others!

Hope you feel better soon Flowers

Holidayshopping · 23/01/2019 07:02

Let him sulk and all him on it-that’s pathetic.

Holidayshopping · 23/01/2019 07:02

Call, not all.

snitzelvoncrumb · 23/01/2019 07:10

Accidentally wake him while you are getting out of bed, when you get back make sure you say something like oh I hope you don't don't catch my bug. He will move.
