Richard Hammond milking a spider.
Why is this stuff allowed on television?!

Dizzywizz · 22/01/2019 20:55

I really can’t take him seriously with that moustache snuesy

Dizzywizz · 22/01/2019 20:55

*anyway’

brizzledrizzle · 22/01/2019 20:57

He's visiting somebody who breeds spiders and they are milking it to get of what they need.
It's a new programme called Invisible Worlds he's doing for the BBC - it's fascinating except for the spiders.

Whaaaa...?

LEMtheoriginal · 22/01/2019 21:16

Spider venom is a valuable resource, both for anti-venom but also is a veritable pharmacy of neurological protiens, potential anti-cancer drug components and target proteins. Im not a hammond fan but im rather sorry i missed that

brizzledrizzle · 22/01/2019 21:19

LEM is is a good programme, it may well be on iplayer.

Ahhhh, it's fangs....like snakes? I honestly thought he was milking via little spidery teats but fangs would make more sense. I obviously need sleep 🤪

KittyVonCatsworth · 22/01/2019 21:20

*its not it's

WhoGivesADamnForAFlakeyBandit · 22/01/2019 21:22

So is he milking it or wanking it? The breeding farm bit has me extra confused.

Purplecatshopaholic · 22/01/2019 21:27

think I will pass...

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 22/01/2019 21:29

Must be a tiny stool. (I'll get me coat)

Singlenotsingle · 22/01/2019 21:29

Time he stopped dying his hair Biscuit

NorksAreMessy · 22/01/2019 21:36

Milking?
Extracting venom?
Wanking?

We need more details

SchadenfreudePersonified · 22/01/2019 22:03

I honestly thought he was milking via little spidery teats but fangs would make more sense.

Same here Kitty - I was wondering how he got the bucket underneath it.

Angie169 · 22/01/2019 22:07

Hammond is only short , he could get under a spider much easier than Clarkson Grin Grin

ThankyouwitharecaptalR · 22/01/2019 22:12

It was extracting the silk, I don't think milking is quite the right term Confused

oohyoudevilyou · 22/01/2019 22:19

Richard Hammond and spiders on the same programme? Shit...is it Halloween or something?Shock

SchadenfreudePersonified · 22/01/2019 22:27

Good point Angie

brizzledrizzle · 22/01/2019 22:39

They said milking it, they were doing something to its abdomen before I looked away.

OP posts:
SchadenfreudePersonified · 24/01/2019 17:08

Possibly an emergency appendectomy.

Spiders are nearly all abdomen - I expect they suffer a lot of tummy troubles.

Dottysmum18 · 24/01/2019 17:29

Milking it for its web was facinating

brizzledrizzle · 24/01/2019 20:31

It was wasn't it? Hard to watch with my phobia but interesting, yes.
