I keep seeing posts where peoples' partners are really shit and the response is very often 'LTB'. I know it's not always literal , but could we /should we have a new acronym that better reflects the intent, as in

TTBO (Throw The Bastard Out) ?

thoughts?

Or KTBO? Kick the bastard out

QwertyLou · 17/01/2019 10:56

Yes why should the B get left with the house? Smile TTBO seems fairer.

(We say DTMFA (dump the mother fucker already) but I don’t like the term MF -especially where many people are mothers!)

thecatsthecats · 17/01/2019 11:46

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

#LTBforever

If we're talking being literal, I wouldn't advocate kicking or throwing anyone around either.

What about...SHMTBITFP....Shouldn't Have Married The Bastard In The First Place????Confused

magoria · 17/01/2019 12:40

I see LTB more as a get your ducks in order and get everything sorted properly rather than actually leave the home right away yourself.

Trouble is if you are married or if they have the right to be in the property you can't just throw them out.

The best thing is to get yourself out of the situation then.

What about GYDIARATAACTAWBMHSTTKATCTL?
(get your ducks in a row and then, at a convenient time and with backup, move his stuff to the kerb and then change the locks)?

Grin

In all seriousness though, I get what you're saying and it's a good idea.

What about GYDIARATAACTAWBMHSTTKATCTL?

I really like this, and think it really sums up a lot of advice on threads. We have a winner! ~bangs gavel~

[annoying pedant alert]
That’s not an acronym, it’s an initialism. Sorry.

ReaganSomerset · 18/01/2019 06:28

TTAPO?

(throw the annoying pedant out)

CrumpBrunette · 18/01/2019 06:33

Well done, Reagan - catchy and easy to remember too Grin

austenozzy · 18/01/2019 07:37

Yep, BOYAP works too, and is an actual acronym. ‘Bugger off, you annoying pedant’.

Almost perfect. Can we add:
GYDIARATAACTAWBMHSTTKATCTLBCTLFBYMNBTADOWOTHAGYFHHWASIYCBTAOFSIAHC
(get your ducks in a row and then, at a convenient time and with backup, move his stuff to the kerb and then change the locks but check the legality first because you might not be able to depending on who owns the house and get your free half hour with a solicitor (if you can because the availability of free solicitors is also hotly contested)

ReaganSomerset · 18/01/2019 08:19

@austenozzy Thank you, I can't believe didn't know that one!

@StarsAndWater That's much better, well done! I tip my cap to you. I think the addition of the legal advice really improves the accuracy and utility of the acronym. I look forward to seeing it in future relationship threads. Grin
